In 1977, Ingrid and Hanjö Rick conceived the idea of producing accessories in the arts and crafts tradition in order to communicate their concept of interior design. The first headquarters of their company IHR was an old village school in Lower Saxony in the north of Germany.

They soon discovered the tissue napkin as a design object and the basis of stylish table decorations, and turned it into the key feature of their product range.

The young company grew steadily, becoming the trendsetter in its line of business and is today considered to be the international market leader in the field of high-class table decoration and interior accessories.

In 2011, IHR started printing all Napkins, Pocket Tissues, Table Runners and other tissue based products using 100% recycled paper and environmentally food safe, water based colours.

Making IHR one of the most environmentally friendly manufacturer's of tissue products worldwide today.

IHR proudly manufactures designs for Marimekko, V&A (Victoria & Albert Museum, London), Burleigh, Emma Bridgewater, Villeroy & Boch and more.
